Football News – The England Goal Scoring Boots

England eased past Kazakhstan at Wembley with an emphatic 5-1 win. After a goalless first half, captain Rio Ferdinand opened the scoring before an Alexandr Kuchma own goal doubled England’s lead. A mistake by Ashley Cole allowed Zhambyl Kukeyev to pull one back for Kazakhstan before a Wayne Rooney brace and a Jermain Defoe goal sealed the win.

Would You Pay £2 Million For Noble-Lazarus?

Maybe it’s because I am a tight Yorkshire man at heart or maybe it’s because I am a bit of a cynic but personally I would not pay two million of my English pounds for Reuben Noble-Lazarus and I think it was a crafty bit of PR from Barnsley to bring him on during their 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Ipswich at the weekend.

Noble-Lazarus passed a mark set by Bradford Park Avenue’s Albert Geldard in 1929 and equalled by Wrexham’s Ken Roberts.

Boss Simon Davey said the youngster, who was due back at school on Wednesday, was too young to be paid but that hasn’t stopped speculation that he is being watched by Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.

When asked for his views on Noble-Lazarus Barnsley manager Simon Davey said:

“He has only trained a couple of times with the first team but they have taken him under their wing,” the manager continued.

The club has liaised with his school so he can join first-team training on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Wearing a number 31 shirt, the teenager came on as a substitute in the 84th minute at Portman Road.

Davey insisted Noble-Lazarus, who goes to school in Huddersfield, would be kept grounded.

“I think if they’re good enough, they’re old enough,” said Davey.

“I have kept an eye on him over the last two years and have tried to integrate him as quickly as I could into the first team.

“He is a confident lad but he is still only 15. He is a talent and we need to nurture him in the right way.”

Again to repeat what I thought earlier; I think this is just spin to ramp the price up when the day comes that he will be eligible to be sold.

Joe Kinnear’s Amazing Rant

Ok I know that in the world of the internet this is old news but I had to take this chance to share with those (like me) who still aren’t at the cutting edge of the internet this Joe Kinnear rant. He apparently swears a staggering 52 times in 13 minutes. Pretty good going if you ask me.

Remember this is totally NSFW (not safe for work) unless your boss finds this as funny as I did. Also this isn’t safe for kids.

Part one of the rant.

Part two of the rant

I have also included an edited version of the interview (taken from the telegraph.) Please note, again this contains pretty strong language.

Nike Tempo Super Ligera

Looking for a new football boot with the lightweight build for speed and acceleration allowing you to repond to situations on the pitch faster, quicker? Well the rumors that were going around way back in April are true; Nike have just announced the Tempo Super Ligera.

Available from the end of October/ early November the Tempo Super Ligera are 25% lighter than the previous tempo legend football boots. Nike has branded these boots with the slogan “Light on touch, heavy in class.”. Made from Kangaroo leather uppers and TPU outer sole.

Don’t think that just because the boots are 25% lighter they are 25% less robust- Nike has manufactured these boots to be just as durable as anything else out there.

The styling of these boots is classic, timeless and hard to find fault with. Ok so they haven’t got the future, slick feel of Adidas F50s’ but they aren’t trying to be super cool. They are just trying to be football boots that get the job done.

The Super Ligera will be available in both hard ground and soft ground versions and is expected to retail at around £90.

Newcastle Price Drop - Now Only £300 Million

Fancy owning your own football club? Well now you can - it has been reported that Mike Ashley has just knocked £150 million off his asking price for Newcastle!

That’s right - for just £300 million you could snap up Newcastle united.

Don’t think that the profits are going to suffer either - Mike Ashley should stand to make around £50 million from the sale.

Let us just hope he doesn’t spend it all at once on pies and Newkie Brown Ale.
